Inner Voice

Poem - Inner Voice

Oh lord, what’s my inner voice?

the captain of my ship, and my guiding light

Burning when my hard heart cries,

Which hurts my mind, nothing’s fine

A sense of universal harmonies,

a measureless forever eternity

A feeling of ecstasy and delight,

eradicating austere thoughts and fright

Jealousy, jealousy ponders within me,

Oh, really? Forgive my lack of sympathy

Sparks of raging and flaming fire

run through my envious desire

A dark, vast purple night sky,

A crescent moon beguiling and shy

My inner tones permeate my feelings

Nostalgia creeps like tiny inklings

Oh lord, Oh lord, what’s my inner voice?

wistful, delightful or a frightening sight

So many questions asked, waiting for a reply

just listening to the voice that speaks inside

What’s my inner voice?
